INTRODUCTION The SSU3A Curry Club is a group of members who are dedicated to investigating and sampling the cuisine of the Indian sub-continent as produced by restaurants in the local area. We have over 50 registered members, nearly 40 of whom have been on one or more of the 6 visits we have made to restaurants in before Lockdown. These have ranged from generalised Indian cuisine to specialised regional tastes. VENUES In 2021 we are hoping to arrange further visits to local restaurants if the Covid pandemic regulations allow us greater freedom to meet as a group. We will be seeking restaurants who are cooking with the specialised spices and herbs of some of the regions of the Indian sub-continent as well as re-visiting old favourites. The evenings usually include with lively discussion on a wide range of topics.
ORGANISERS We ask for members to recommend restaurants that they have visited and for volunteers to arrange for visits to their favourites. We agree a fixed price with the restaurant for poppadum, starter, main course and a small drink. Dependent on the restaurant, the food can be chosen from the full or restricted menu. The co-ordinator will provide the contact with members. Please make email contact with the Coordinator to be included on the list of invitees.
