U3A is an organisation of about 1500xxxx largely independent groups of people throughout British Isles and across the world who wish to learn, laugh and live. Aimed primarily to those no longer in fulltime employment, each U3A organises activities such as lectures, talks and meetings. Activity Group comprise groups of members within each U3A who share a common interest in topics that are diverse as Bridge, Local History, Reading, Theatre and Cooking. Indeed if there is an interest and someone willing to lead the group, even if not being knowledgeable in the subject, a Group can be formed. the List of Groups within a U3A can be long as there are members willing to participate
South Solihull U3A was founded in 2010xxxx and currently has around 160 members, We have over 20 Activity Groups. Group size varies from over 30 in our Walking Group to 4 in one of our Bridge Groups
